Recording

Dark – This is a full band demo written and performed by a local NYC musician, Virginia Marcs. I was her lead guitar player, recording engineer and post-production editor for this demo. Much like my work with Bill Grady for his song "Annie's Waltz" (see below), we recorded a few takes during our session and I used parts of each to create the overall track while using the right panning, levels, EQ/Compression, automation and any effects such as reverberation, echoes, etc. to compliment the track.

Scholastic Books – Recorded audio for ten videos for the "Judy Newman at Scholastic" blog on the Scholastic Books website. This blog features the "Book Boys," a group of employees who promote individual books for young readers through entertaining videos. My role was to ensure proper set up of equipment and microphones and to record multiple takes of each performance using Pro Tools.

Annie's Waltz – This is a solo guitar piece written and performed by a local Chicago musician, Bill Grady, where I was his recording engineer during my Studio Recording class at Tribeca Flashpoint College ("TFC"). I also handled the post-production. We recorded two takes during the session and I used parts of each to create the overall track. I created a mix using the right panning, levels, EQ/Compression, automation and any effects such as reverberation, echoes, etc. to compliment the track.

3 AM (acoustic) – Here is one of the five songs I recorded from a local Chicago Band, Double Identity, for my TFC Studios class. I was given this client to work with over the 7-week course and my end goal with them was to record, mix, and master each of the songs to the client's satisfaction.
